Who we are
I’m Marco Hollweg. I started California Loyal Movers in 2010, and we still run every move out of our Palo Alto office at 999 Commercial Street. Today our crews move families and businesses across 20 Bay Area cities, from San Francisco down to Los Gatos and across the bay to Fremont and Union City.
We are a licensed California household goods carrier. Our Cal-T number is 191951 and our USDOT number is 2020505. You can check both with the California Public Utilities Commission and the FMCSA before you book, and I’d encourage you to. Most of what goes wrong in this industry starts with a company that doesn’t hold either one.
How we work
Every move starts with a written estimate. For local moves we quote an hourly rate with a three-hour minimum, and the rate covers the crew, the truck, pads, dollies and shrink wrap. For long-distance moves we quote a flat price based on weight and distance. Either way, the number on your estimate is the number on your bill unless you add services on moving day, and we tell you before we add them.
Every member of our crew is selected and trained in-house. They know which San Francisco streets need a parking permit, which Palo Alto buildings make you reserve the freight elevator, and how to get a sofa down a Belmont hillside staircase without touching the walls.
What we move
- Homes: studios to five-bedroom houses, local and long distance
- Offices: after-hours and weekend moves so your team opens Monday as normal
- Packing: full or partial, with our materials
- Loading and unloading: labor-only help for rental trucks, PODS and storage units
- Specialty items: pianos, safes, art and antiques, quoted separately
Insurance, in plain terms
By law, every licensed mover includes released value coverage, which pays 60 cents per pound per item. That is not much for a television. We also offer full value protection, which repairs or replaces damaged items at today’s value. We explain both options on every estimate and put your choice in writing. If something does get damaged, you deal with us directly, not a call center.
Where we work
Our trucks are on the road every day in Palo Alto, Mountain View, San Jose, San Francisco, San Mateo and the rest of the Peninsula, South Bay and East Bay. If your city isn’t on our service areas page, call anyway. We take on moves across Northern California and long-distance moves out of state.
Why people call us back
A lot of our work comes from referrals and repeat customers. The reasons they give are simple: we show up when we say we will, we wrap everything, we don’t pad the hours, and the person who quoted the job still answers the phone afterward. We hold 4.9 stars on Google and Yelp, and you can read the reviews through the links on our homepage.
If you’re planning a move anywhere in the Bay Area, call us at 650-458-1253 or request a quote online. We’ll give you an honest number and tell you if there’s a cheaper way to do it.
